Get Prepared

PROVERBS 24:27

Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.

One of the most important things a runner will do is to prepare for the race.

Preparation by definition is to make something ready for use or consideration. Are you ready for use? Often times we anticipate what we are not ready for. The instruction is clear, the plan is in place, but are you in position?

Preparation proves our faith in God’s instruction. Preparation is an act of submission and obedience. Preparation says, “I expect success.” If you want to show God faith, show Him preparation. Ephesians 3:20 says, God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all what we ask or think. As we walk out what God has said, we must prepare for exceeding results. Prepare for God to manifest bigger than you can imagine, and He will!

Don’t allow fear to enter the equation. Fear hinders preparation. Fear comes not only to delay, but fear comes to cause you to abort assignments. Fear is present to destroy your potential. It causes what’s ahead of you to look bigger than the power of your faith. It makes those that do not believe in you seem relevant to the details of your success. Fear causes you to take your eyes off of the power of God and place them on your circumstance. Can you trust if God has called you to stand up to Goliath, that He sees in you a David? If only we would give God our unwavering faith without conditions every time He spoke to us, could you imagine what we could accomplish? Could you imagine the impact we would have in the earth if we just gave God a “Yes” and began to prepare from the moment He gave us His instruction?

Are you prepared to carry out the will of God His way, trusting and relying on Him without distractions? Are you prepared to run with what you have been given? Weariness comes more quickly to those who are unprepared. Prepare for the test and challenges that might come to slow you down. Prepare your heart for possible interruptions. Prepare your mind to be fixed on what God said regardless of what you might face contrary to His word. Prepare to be steadfast and unmovable that you might continue to abound in every good work.

You want to be an author. Are you prepared to write? You want to go back to school, are you prepared to be a student? You want to preach, but are you prepared through personal study and prayer to deliver a fresh word to God’s people. It’s possible that though we are ready, we are not always prepared for what we feel we are ready for.

Take time to prepare. Prepared people are progressive people and progressive people become prosperous people. We are living in a time where we want the promise, but reject the process.
